River Stage
RIVER STAGE opens its new season with Born Yesterday (1950) by Garson Kanin. An uncouth, loud-mouth junkyard tycoon, Harry Brock, descends upon Washington D.C. to buy himself a congressman or two, bringing with him his mistress, ex-showgirl Billie Dawn. Brock hires newspaperman Paul Verrall to see if he can soften her rough edges and make her more presentable in capital society. Artistic Director, Frank Condon, has selected Michael Stevenson, co-director of the B Street Theatre Conservatory, to direct this production. Michael holds an M.F.A. from the American Conservatory Theatre and is a member of the B Street Acting Company. He has a vast directing background working for local and regional theatre companies. He has directed numerous productions including those of Shakespeare. Tracy Scott, a Cosumnes River College theater arts faculty member, will serve as Assistant Director on this project. Born Yesterday opens on Saturday, October 15th and will continue until Sunday, November 13th. Performances will be Thursdays at 7:30, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM, and Sundays at 2 PM. River Stage is located on the campus of Cosumnes River College at 8401 Center Parkway, Sacramento, CA 95823. Anthony D’Juan takes the helm in directing this comedy/drama. The play opens on Thursday, December 8th and continues to Sunday, December 18th.
