Rocklin Youth Theatre Company

Annie, Jr., October 2007

Rocklin Youth Theatre Company (RYTC) started January 2006 as a non-profit children’s theatre company. RYTC produces two musicals each year and has so far done “Guys & Dolls, Jr.”, “Bye, Bye, Birdie”, “Grease, the School Version” and “Annie, Jr”. Auditions are used to select the individuals that best fit the roles of the production but all kids are provided a role.  The director and staff strive to select productions that provide the greatest opportunity to showcase

as many individuals as possible. Depending on the number of participants the productions consists of multiple casts or the leads are double cast.

Rocklin Youth Theatre Company operates and rehearses out of the Rocklin Dance Center at 6015 Pacific Street, #7 and uses Del Oro High School in Loomis for its performances.

The production determines the age group that may participate with it typically being open to ages 8 – 18 (still in high school). RYTC hopes to start a mini-program which will allow ages 4 – 8 the ability to get started on a smaller scale.

RYTC participant’s parents pay a registration fee, help with fundraising and contribute hours towards the production. This group effort involves all the parents to take a part in their child’s theatre experience. This in return makes the production a success and a very rewarding accomplishment for both the children and their parents.

Local Businesses provide support through sponsorships which affords us the ability to offer partial and full scholarships to some kids who may not be able to participate due to financial hardship. There are a limited number of scholarships and they are based on need and selected by a panel.
