Award-winning playwright & screenwriter Rebeck (Bad Dates, Law and Order) examines the shifting power dynamics of personal relationships and the empty narcissism of American culture in this sexy and scathing comedy about dating, fame, fulfillment, and obsession with pop culture. Charlie, an out-of-work New York actor, is spiritually famished and morally adrift. Life is one dull party after another until Clea, a fresh-faced ingénue just off the bus from Ohio, enters the picture and upends the lives of three old friends.

Mrs. Warren's Profession / March 21 - April 26, 2009

It took George Bernard Shaw eight years to get this brilliant, controversial play produced. In his famous "apology" for the script Shaw describes the "hysterical tumult of protest, of moral panic, of involuntary and frantic confession of sin" that ensued. This controversial attack on society's hypocrisy involves young Vivie Warren, emancipated, intelligent and self sufficient. Vivie is astounded to learn her mother rose from poverty to riches through prostitution - -and also that she is now part owner and operator of a chain of brothels.

An enthralling and ultimately chilling black comedy that confronts bureaucratic euphemisms like "person of interest" and "extraordinary rendition" with the frightening reality they seek to obscure. Following a heinous terrorist attack, an Arab-American writer is visited by two government officials. What begins as a friendly inquiry soon devolves into a full-blown investigation of his presumed ties to terrorists. At times surreal and comic, Back of the Throat examines the way in which facts, evidence and (mis)perceptions are used to distort the truth and how racial profiling impacts the relationship between the accusers and the accused.
