Bugsy Malone Jr.
The popular pint-sized, pin-striped classic leaps off the silver screen and onto the stage. Like the film, this wild and wacky musical includes a child’s dream come true: a classic pie fight fought with “splurge blasters” which spew forth “silly string” instead of pies! With a catchy, swinging score by the composer of The Muppet Movie.

Allen Schmeltz provides workshops and private lessons in theatre arts for children, teens and adults. The teaching venue is the Stage Nine Theatre in Historic Folsom. Private Lessons are
$35 an hour and Workshops are $60-$80 per month.
The goal is to get students to stop "acting" and instead become "real" on
stage. As Spencer Tracy said when asked his advice on acting, "Don't get
caught doing it." Learning how to become real is done through character study and scene analysis, exploring the circumstances of a scene, stimulating emotions, theatre games and improvisation and more.
Techniques are drawn from the work of Uta Hagen, Viola Spolin, Meisner, Stella Adler and others and utilize the stimulation of the imagination through circumstances rather than the Method Acting approach of substitution and emotional recall.
Allen Schmeltz is an award winning director whose plays and actors have been nominated for and received numerous awards for excellence.
