Local Children's theatre troupe is offering a Student internship for 1 or 2 Senior High school students or College students to Assistant Direct for a children's musical on Mondays and/or Fridays from 5-9 pm from Sept through to the end of January. The ideal candidate will LOVE children, have some experience working with kids ages 4-14, love to perform as well as direct, be enthusiastic, fun-loving, sparkly, a wonderful leader with a positive attitude. Position Summary:  The Los Rios Community College District is seeking a pool of qualified applicants for possible temporary part-time teaching assignments in design and the specific teaching assignment may include theatre courses such as Beginning Stagecraft, Stage Lighting, or Costume Construction. These positions are filled on an as needed basis and are on-going recruitments. Assignments include days, evenings and weekends, and will include weekly production meetings.

As set designer, the faculty member also serves as the technical director and, with student crews, will oversee construction of the show set.

As costume designer, the faculty member also serves as costume shop foreperson, and will execute, with student crews, the construction of costumes for the show.

As lighting designer, the faculty member also serves as the master electrician, and with student crews, will hang and focus the show.

Additional Position Summary:
Responsibilities: The faculty member shall be responsible for the following: teaching technical theatre classes under the supervision of the area dean; helping students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content; maintaining thorough and up-to-date knowledge in his/her regular teaching field; maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position.

Additional Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Have a master's degree in drama/theater arts/performance OR Bachelor's in drama/theater arts/performance AND Master's in comparative literature, English, speech, literature, or humanities OR the equivalent* OR hold a California Community College Instructor's Credential in the discipline area.

* Note: Applicants appling under the "equivalent" provision must attach details and explain how their academic preparation is equivalent of the degree listed above.

Have sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

(Degrees and applicable college coursework must be from an accredited institution.)

2. Unofficial transcripts of college/university work ** ("graduate advising documents and grade reports" will not be accepted as unofficial transcripts). NOTE: Los Rios employees are also required to submit unofficial copies of transcripts.

Special Requirements: **Note: Individuals who have completed colleges or university course work at an institution in a country other than the United States must obtain a complete evaluation of foreign transcripts, degrees and other relevant documents. A foreign transcript evaluation is required any time foreign course work is used to meet minimum qualifications and/or salary placement even if the foreign transcript has been accepted by a college or university in the United States.
