Sacramento Theatre Company seeks Assistant Master Electrician for 08-09 season.
Duties include the supervision of all things electrical for the Pollock Stage (black box).
This includes hanging and cabling lights, running focus, maintenance of the space (elec.), programming the light board, running shows, maintaining a budget and assisting the master electrician with main stage shows.
Potential design opportunities.
Additional theatrical skills a plus, but not required.
Position reports directly to the master electrician.
Contract starts in early September and runs to mid May.
Asst. M.E. pay: $9-$11 hr, potential of seasonal raises.
Health and Dental available with split pay between company and employee (pull out of your check before taxes).

Strong time management and communication skills, along with strong ability in all techniques and mediums required. Must be willing to work odd hours.
2 years properties experience preferred.

Duties as dictated by the Shop Foreman or Technical Director. Potential duties are (but not limited to) Building scenic designs, Loading in and striking scenic designs, scene shop maintenance, company vehicle maintenance, tool maintenance and repair, and having fun.
Working fast, staying on task, and not having to rebuild are the most important abilities for a carpenter in this shop.
Must have a strong knowledge of theatrical conventions and building practices.
Professional theatrical experience preferred.
Additional theatrical skills a plus, but not required.

Contract starts in early September and runs to mid May.
Carpenters pay: $9-$11 hr, potential of seasonal raises.

The Benvenuti Performing Arts Center (BPAC) seeks a Technical Director for a joint Performing Arts Academy/Community Theater. The position is full-time with the possibility of annual renewal based on performance evaluation. Duties include the maintenance and inventory of all theater equipment; supervising/training of technical students; the maintenance of production budgets; construction and hanging of sets in two theaters (365 seat house and a 80 seat black box). Ideal candidate will have the ability to direct students/volunteers/employees.
Qualifications: flexible but M.F.A. in Technical Theater or B.A. and equivalent experience is preferred; proficiency in carpentry, rigging, lighting, sound, drafting, CAD and/or VectorWorks. Salary range $38,000--$55,000 DOE and qualifications. Fax resume to Candice Lamarche at
